Freezer Jam
Fresh fruits are everywhere this time of year. Take advantage of the wonderful selection and prices by making freezer jam with no complicated canning necessary.
Every time we go to the grocery or pass a farm stand, we are tickled pink with all of the fresh produce at such great prices. It’s one of the true delights of summer. Canning those fruits and veggies is a way to preserve those wonderful flavors so you can enjoy them for months to come, but traditional canning can be a tedious process.
If you have never tried freezer canning, we urge you to give it a go. It’s a way to capture the wonderful sweetness of all those ripe berries, using only the freezer as a preservative. This recipe from I’m Still Workin shows you how to make Strawberry jam, but you can try this method with any number of fruit varieties. Try adding rhubarb to the strawberry recipe or even a splash of bourbon to really give it some pizzaz!
