The Holiday Train has been a tradition since 1992. Delivering Chicagoans to their destinations, food to local charities and Santa to folks all over the city!
The good folks in Chicago have their own version of the Polar Express. Each year, the Chicago Transit Authority decorates one of its trains and buses with thousands of lights and holiday messages. People can’t help but smile when they see the colorful lights coming down the track and Santa sitting on one of the cars, spreading good cheer to all.
In addition to just being fun to look at and ride, the train is also used by local charities to deliver food to those in need. Imagine how excited they must be to see that train coming their way!
