If you’ve never had a crepe, then I URGE you to try this recipe. Crepes will change your life!!
This recipe for how to make crepes calls for only a handful of ingredients but it’s the combination of what you can fill your crepes with that will have your mouth watering.
Once you’ve mastered making the crepe itself, it can be stuffed with chicken or seafood for a main course OR you can spread Nutella on it and layer it with bananas, strawberries, peaches and blueberries. OMG – the list goes ON!
OR add ice cream, chocolate syrup and Oreos for a dream-come-true dessert! I’m not kidding…you can fill your crepe with ANYTHING!
Making crepes at home is not nearly as difficult as one might think. Here are easy and simple step by step instructions for how to make crepes:
Step 1. In blender mix:
- 2 eggs
- 3/4 cup milk
- 1/2 cup water
- 3 tablespoons butter
- 1 cup flour
Step 2: Once these ingredients have been blended, take a moment and pour the batter through a strainer. They will cook and taste better without any flour lumps.
Step 3: Next, let the batter rest for about an hour (if you can) before you begin to cook.
Step 4: Once you’re ready, put a little butter in the skillet and get it warmed up on med heat. {Note: the flatter the skillet, the better}
Step 5: Pour your batter in and have a spatula (for flipping) handy as well as a plate to place them on as you cook them 1-at-a-time. Cook underside 2-3 minutes.
Step 6: As the batter heats, loosen the sides with the spatula and quickly flip. Cook for another minute. Slide crepe out of skillet.
Once you’ve cooked them, it’s time to fill’ em up and dig in!
Like I said, crepes are as much for breakfast or dinner as they are for dessert.
My favorite combinations typically include Nutella, ice cream, any kind of fresh fruit OR cookies, caramel and whipped cream. Make your own fantastic creation and enjoy!
