Scrub Clean & Re-Season Your Old Iron Skillet

The sign of a great chef is not only someone who can cook up fabulous meals but someone who can also teach us a thing or two about the “clean up!”

The folks at Macheesmo have posted a simple rule of thumb (if you will) as to how to scrub clean AND re-season your old iron skillet. And since I finally have one, albeit a hand-me-down, I found this interesting. So, I hope you do, too!

Here’s what you’ll need to get started: 

You may have heard to NEVER use soap on your iron skillet and that’s typically the case because it strips all the good oils you want embedded in your skillet. BUT when it looks this rough, we have to start over.
