Thanks to Chip and Joanna and their love of shiplap, the stuff is everywhere. People all over the country are DIYing it in their own homes and designers are charging huge amounts to install it in new construction. But before you pull the trigger on your own renovation, check out Joanna’s latest love. ‘Skinny lap’ is much like shiplap, but the planks are narrow 1″ x 2″s, attached to plywood with a gap in between.
She has installed in here in a boy’s bedroom and it makes a huge textural impact. If you don’t want to commit to a whole room, try it on a feature wall. Paint it up or leave it unstained…whatever suits your space and makes you happy!
